Aboard a safe off-road vehicle, driven by a skilled expert and in the company of our local authorized guide, you will reach places inaccessible to most vehicles. At an altitude of 900 meters, you will be able to directly observe marble workers in action. The extraction of the enormous blocks of marble from the mountainside and the subsequent loading onto trucks is an extremely difficult and exacting job.
The adventure continues upwards to an altitude of 1200 meters where there is a spectacular view of the Alpi Apuane (Apuan Alps) and the Mediterranean Sea. It is also possible to access a marble quarry that has been excavated tunnel-like inside a mountain. And of course, last but not least, a tasting of the renowned lardo (lard) of Colonnata!
