Sant’Anna of Stazzema

With our local specialized guide you will visit the village of Sant’Anna of Stazzema and learn the sad story of one of the worst massacres of World War II which took place in this small mountain hamlet on August 12, 1944. You will see the sites of the Nazi bloodshed, the Historical Museum of the Resistance and the National Park of Peace.

This historical fact inspired Spike Lee’s film, The Miracle of St. Anne (2008).

  • Meeting point: the tour can begin wherever is convenient for you. The guide can meet you at the parking lot located at the entrance to Sant’Anna of Stazzema. At an additional cost, the guide can meet you elsewhere.

  • This is a walking tour of medium difficulty. Please wear comfortable shoes. For this excursion, you must provide your own transportation. You can use your own vehicle or a rental. Should you not have transportation, we would be happy to arrange it for you.
