Restoration Studios in Florence

The art of restoration is widespread in Florence. Because of the importance of Florence’s immense art collection, great attention has been devoted to maintain and preserve this heritage. The Opificio delle Pietre Dure (the Workshop of Hardstones) and multiple top-quality restoration studios make Florence one of the most renowned cities in the world for restoration. Restorers of canvases and panels, textiles, antique ceramics, mosaics, and stone work welcome visitors to their bottegas (workshops/studios) to explain and demonstrate their skills and craft.
