Kids in Lucca: Stepping Back in Time to the Middle Ages

Accompanied by one of our local specialized guides, you will stroll through the historic center of Lucca walking in the footsteps of the multitudes of pilgrims that visited during the Middle Ages to venerate the famous wooden crucifix called the “Volto Santo” (Holy Face).

You will discover and explore the town but through the inquisitive eyes of your child. After visiting the historic Zecca (Mint) where a replica of the coins used in that period will be minted for you, you will then attempt to discover the secrets concealed in the facades of the churches. Hidden and mysterious symbols can be found in the Church of San Michele and in the Cathedral of San Martino. Stories of mythical animals and ancient legends will be unveiled. After the exploration, the best gelato in Lucca awaits you!
