Massaciuccoli

A very suggestive itinerary, ideal for lovers of nature, archaeology, and Puccini’s music.

This tour takes us to Torre del Lago to visit the villa by the lake where Giacomo Puccini composed some of his most famous operas (entrance fee). We then sail across Lake Massaciuccoli to the LIPU Oasis, a natural reserve, habitat to many rare and protected species of birds.
Next, after a short walk, we reach the evocative Roman ruins of what were the Villa and baths built by the Venulei family in the 1st century AD, on the hill overlooking the lake.

The return trip can also be made by boat.
